EL PAÍS in English

Dear readers,

This week, we looked at the Fox News settlement with Dominion, and how it affects former U.S. president Donald Trump.

We also traveled to Taiwan and spoke to people on the ground about what it's like being at the center of the U.S.-China tug-of-war for power.

In other news, we went inside the criminal organization set up by Los Chapitos, the sons of Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán, and examined the events leading up to the arrest of MS-13 kingpin José Wilfredo Ayala.

And finally, we spoke to director Quentin Tarantino about the gun control debate in the United States and his love of Spanish cinema.

Earth Day

Plastic has become the most common litter on the planet and the amount of plastic in the environment is only going to increase if corporations keep going with the status quo. This panel will speak to experts on greenwashing techniques, corporate accountability, and environmental advocates to talk about ways corporations can get their act together and become part of the solution instead of the problem. It is time to hold those responsible for the degradation of our planet accountable for their action, pay their fair share, and prevent them from further brain washing the public at large.

Dear readers,

All eyes were on Donald Trump this week as he appeared in court on charges stemming from his role in hush money paid to Stormy Daniels during the 2016 presidential campaign. While some legal experts have questioned the strength of the case, other probes into the former U.S. president are also gaining pace.

In other news, we spoke to chemist David Liu about a revolutionary tool that can modify the human genome, and looked at two studies on the importance of sleep.

Finally, we reported on the crisis facing Utah's Great Salt Lake, which is on track to disappear within five years.
