For the first time in the history of the San Javier
Jazz Festival Award, the organisers have applied the municipal Rule of Honours
and Distinctions, which allows, exceptionally, awarding an artist from the
European Union and another one from elsewhere in the world the same year.
Ignasi Terraza is one of the most distinguished pianists in Spain, winner of the Jacksonville International Jazz Piano Competition 2009. He has published 27 albums and this will be his fourth visit to San Javier.
Kevin Mohagony, considered the best living Jazz baritone voice has been compared to the legendary Johnny Hartman and Joe Williams. This year will also be his fourth visit to the San Javier Jazz Festival, where like Terraza, he is loved by the public.
